KBIFF Masterclass Featured Speaker: Christian Jeune
The Bhutan Film Institute is delighted to announce that Christian Jeune will be participating at the inaugural 2024 Kingdom of Bhutan International Film Festival as part of our masterclass series.
Mr. Jeune brings decades of experience and expertise in the film industry and has been an advocate for the Bhutan Film Institute since its inception. He is among the first of an illustrious roster of industry experts that is slated to be speaking at KBIFF.
Christian Jeune started at the Festival de Cannes as a local intern in 1983 while pursuing his studies, going on to join the Film Department at its Paris office in 1995. He has been the Director of the Film Department since his appointment in 1999 and was also appointed as Deputy to the General Delegate in 2003. He now oversees the rigorous film selection process for Festival de Cannes. He has also travelled widely for the last 20 years, mainly in Asia to scout films and visit members of the global film industry. He has served on the jury of many festivals (Busan, Tokyo, Adelaide, Taipei, Bangkok, and Macau, just to name a few. He has also translated over 100 films from English to French, including three films in the Bourne series, the three Kingsman films, and many more.
