The Kingdom of Bhutan International Film Festival (KBIFF) is thrilled to announce that celebrated Indian composer Shantanu Moitra will be a featured masterclass speaker at the 2024 edition of the festival. Set against the stunning backdrop of Bhutan’s serene landscapes, KBIFF is dedicated to providing an enriching platform for filmmakers and creative professionals to learn, share, and be inspired by the best in the industry.
Shantanu Moitra, renowned for his exceptional contributions to Indian cinema and music, brings a rich legacy of creativity and innovation to KBIFF. With a career that spans over two decades, Moitra has composed music for some of Bollywood’s most iconic films, including “Parineeta,” “3 Idiots,” “PK,” and “Lage Raho Munna Bhai.” His compositions are celebrated for their emotional depth, intricate melodies, and the seamless blend of traditional and contemporary elements.

As a masterclass speaker at KBIFF, Shantanu Moitra will share his profound insights into the world of film music composition. Attendees will have the unique opportunity to learn from his extensive experience in creating evocative scores that enhance cinematic storytelling. Moitra’s masterclass will cover various aspects of music composition, including thematic development, orchestration, and the collaborative process between directors and composers.

Shantanu is also known for his explorations beyond the realm of music. He has taken a 100 day journey across the Himalayas, and has recently cycled 2,500 km across the length and breadth of Ganges. This transpired into a web series that encapsulates life along the mighty Ganges.
